Mappin & Webb, York

Mappin and Webb York jewellery salon

Watches of Switzerland approached the studio to review the existing retail concept for their brand, Mappin & Webb. Following initial discussions and feasibility studies, a new concept was commissioned to meet the client’s elevated aspirations for the brand. The design proposal sought to create calm, elegant and feminine interiors through lighting and materiality, resulting in luxurious spaces that elevate the product and customer experience.

The studio worked closely with the Mappin & Webb team, not only to develop a design proposal in line with their brand identity, but also on the roll out and implementation of the concept across multiple locations, taking into consideration programme, budget and procurement constraints. Tested in various locations during its development, Davygate, York was the first location to open with the new concept, only 18 months after the initial appraisal.
