This evening event will give an exclusive opportunity to tour a private house located on prominent corner in the heart of Westminster.

This 1927 building, originally a pub was carefully transformed by Barbara Weiss Architects into an unusual and extremely bespoke family home with open plan living quarters clustered around a roof terrace.

The intricacy of the plan and volumes is reflected in the sophistication of materials, and the immense care put into detailing. Materials are largely natural, often traditional, employed however in unusual combinations of colors and textures, and varying from floor to floor and room to room.

The rebuilding of the house was radical and extensive and lasted over two years: the interior was gutted, save for the structural floor slabs; and the main stair was moved, to improve circulation. The reuse and adaptation of this solid 1920s structure reflects the architect’s aspiration to preserve and give new life. In rebuilding, best practice and high quality materials were employed throughout, ensuring that many years would pass before further improvements would be required.

Each tour duration 1 hour. Limited places, cost £35.50 with complimentary prosecco and nibbles. Exact address provided to bookers before the event.
